[Harp-L] RE: NY harp clubs, jams or teachers

On most Mondays, Jon Paris performs and brings up people to play and sing at Lucille's in BB Kings on 42nd St from around 9 pm to midnight. A great harp player (and guitarist, oh and he played bass on a couple Bob Dylan albums), you can ask him about lessons, he'd likely be quite amenable.

Also on Mondays, from around 11 pm to 3 am (go there after BB Kings), Ritchie Canata runs a great jam w/ bigtime talent at the Bitter End in the Village. You can tell Jim Moran, the guitarist, that The Professor sends his regards from CA. Jim runs several jams, mostly on LI, you should ask him about it. Indeed, there's a much better scene for blues, rock and funk jams on LI (I can give you some info on that, if you want), though that might have changed, it's been over two years since I've been back to the Old Country.

Hi! I recently moved to New York City and am trying to find any blues/harp
jams, teachers or places for great live blues. Suggestions? Thanks!
