Yes, the wife had foot surgery, still recovering too 8(
I have heard Enrico's performances on video, and he is exceptional!
I don't play as well as him when I concentrate on one instrument at a time--and the button is definitely my friend!

Perhaps another gentleman playing a HFC chromatic and a DB guitar would
illustrate the head movements (or lack thereof) when using them in a performance
would be helpful? Here's a link to a performance of his using this setup:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sV3sf8MliVQ
Enrico Granafei was one of the headliners at SPAH 2011, playing this same
combination of instruments. He sounds as if it is a jazz trio (chromatic, guitar,
and bass guitar) playing together, while it is actually him playing by himself.
Oh yeah, he also sings as part of his performance. The DB guitar was specially
made for him. It has the two "normal" guitar strings replaced by bass guitar
strings that were specially manufactured for him. The other 4 guitar strings are
the "normal" pitches.
Enrico gave a seminar about what and how he plays, with direct assistance
from Vern Smith, the designer of the HFC chromatic and the ENR. It was quite
informative! Before Enrico, Vern was of the opinion that the HFC could not be
played quite as fast as a standard chromatic. Enrico proved that there is no
practical limitation on the speed of songs which can be played using the HFC.
See what you missed by not going to SPAH 2011, Gary? ;-)

Crazy Bob
