Re: [Harp-L] San francisco must see for harmonica player.
Redwood City Jam:
Very friendly jam too:
I was there last night and was impressed with Greg Heumann's playing....
He has a great tone and adds to the event....( lets the jammers use his amazing amp and mic...)
We obviously have some of the same influences...
Greg is a solid player...plays behind the singer...very powerful tone...nice minor key work too....
On other nights I have seen some great players just dropping in...

Each week a different host band kicks off the show for the 1st hour - and that week it will be Junior Watson. (Last night was Paula Harris and Blue Gruve - our local chapter, the Golden Gate Blues Society's entry to the International Blues Challenge in Memphis last week - they took 3rd overall.) Parking in the area is free and the cover is only $5 - so this is a great way to see a great player. There are several good harp players who show up there usually as well. Redwood City is 15 miles south of the SFO airport. It is also a short walk from the train station if you don't have a car there.
