While fooling around with the "TurboSlide" harmonica - the one that uses magnets to bend the pitch, an idea came to me.
Whereas the Seydel version can bend up to 1-1/2 steps.......snip......... So my question to you - would any of you use such a feature? And if so,
which reed(s)do you most frequently find in need of fine-tuning? And would 50 cents (1/4 step) make it worthwhile?
Seydel version of what? Seydel has a harp with magnetically tunable reeds?
Answer to your question, it would be great if reeds were fine-tunable by 50 cents. I think that the reeds that most frequently need tuning are
my 2 thru 7, both blow and draw. My #10 hole blow also seems to be often out of tune, even tho I don't play that particular reed extensively.
Re your other post (subject: Reed Gap-a-Matic) asking which reed I would choose to be able to easily gap, my feeling that the most
useful would be one of the main overdraw reeds - 4,5,6 OB and 7 OD. In my experience, the OD on hole 7 is the hardest to adjust for OD'ing.
Once again, thanks for your devoted research.
