[Harp-L] News Flash from the Ball Street Urinal - Missing Lead Guitarist
BSU Police Blotter
Police in Texas are asking the musical community for help in locating a
missing person.
Dallas guitarist Strato David Lee Axel Hendrix hasn't been missing for over
four months and friends are fearing the worst.
Parts of Strato's pedal set-up were found smashed in a dumpster and his El
Camino was discovered in a ditch with the words
"turn it down mother (profanity omitted)" .
Police spoke with Strato's 2nd wife Roberta Licktenfeld who said she last
saw Strato when he came by the Laundromat to borrow $80
for child support last summer. Licktenfeld said it is unlikely Strato is
lost as he has worked for Domino's Pizza for 15 years and knows the
city pretty well.
The BSU caught up with Strato's fan Joey Squier who said he has been
distraught over the disappearance of his musical mentor.
Through wailing sobs, Squier said that Strato told him that he gave some
weed to a guy that promised to send Strato's CD samples to
some Nashville music executives. Squier said that a couple of the guys at
Guitar Center believed Strato's big break was probably just around the
corner.
Strato was known in music circles for his "in your face" style of playing
and his ability to seamlessly fit the pentatonic minor scale into almost
every guitar solo.
Strato was not without controversy though and he was frequently heard
repeating telling fellow band members " 9 is as low as I go".
Law enforcement sources say Strato told Licktenfeld he was going to spend
a few days jamming with some harmonica players.
He was last seen entering the Westin Hotel in Irving on August 12, 2012.
