What you need to do is this:
1) The update patches are provided as singles. Use the Xedit program FILE/OPEN to load a patch into the editor, then DEVICE/STORE to put that patch into a specific location on your RP. I usually choose to replace a patch that I don't much like with the new one.
2) When you're satisfied with where your patches are sitting on the device, use the Xedit DEVICE/BACKUP function to do a bulk save, which contains all settings for the device in one package. Then you can re-load the bulk file to your device anytime using DEVICE/RESTORE.
The ability to save and re-load the entire contents of the device in one quick process means that it's easy to have different setups for different bands or musical styles ready-to-go. If you're working with band X, you load the Band X setup; if your next gig is with band Y, you load the band Y setup. Very fast and flexible.
