And speaking of Jason Ricci's evocative playing on Heidi and the El Cats'
cover of Led Zep's 'Goin to California'...
This is for all of those who might be new to Harp-l and believe the hype
that Jason is simply a 'fast' player whose notes 'go nowhere'. They actually
go somewhere, but faster than some folks' ears seem capable of following.
He is SO much more than simply a 'fast player' as his playing here proves.
Turn up your speakers and be prepared to be blown away if you haven't
previously heard this: how he weaves HIS sound in and around the vocalist's
voice and tone is perfection. I simply can't get enough of this personally
since it's one of the most beautiful examples of diatonic harmonica playing
I've ever heard.
