I shared this encouragement with a current web student, and thought it
could benefit others hesitating to join a jam session.
Three things occur concurrently and support each other...
1. Harp-specific skills, getting to the next note cleanly
2. Music theory, why it all fits together
3. Playing by ear, recognizing more details in the music
Jamming is an important part of bringing these together, (feeling) ready or
not! <Grin>
If they will let you up to play, give it a shot!
When you get off the stage, you'll know clearly what you need to work on
next.
To win, you must begin!
(Oh, that sounds like a Zig Ziglar maxim, hah!)
