Re: [Harp-L] disinfecting harps
Why bother. You're already immune to that one particular strain. Otherwise, rinse it out with warm water and let it dry. Or take some alcohol - I used to have a quart jar of moonshine I used specifically for disinfecting harmonicas - and put a few drops in each hole, then tap it out. I used to do this on Marine Bands, too. a few drops of moonshine, then tap it out. The wood comb would swell up from the alcohol for a day or two, but go back down once it dried. I suppose if you don't have any moonshine laying around, you could use rubbing alcohol. A little bit goes a long way. I had a two-quart bottle that lasted me about two or three years. It was, for the record, Junior Johnson's Midnight Moon. Made an excellent harmonica cleaner.

Subject: [Harp-L] disinfecting harps
After recovering from being ill(cold flu), I was wondering if anyone knows how to disinfect the harp so you won't reinfect yourself. Anyone have any ideas.
