[Harp-L] BBE two timer delay

Long and short delays are handy with the foot switch, alright. This pedal is
clearly better than a single delay you must reset manually. There are some
compromises, however.

BBE TWO TIMER

First, turn the repeat / feedback / regeneration dial down to zero. One
return of the signal stays tidy in the mix. Multiple returns get very
cluttered, except for very special and brief effects, and they MUST be timed
to the rhythm of the song = Tap Tempo.

Second, MIX dial looks about right, if this device sets 10 at 1:1, that is,
if full up returns the echo at the same volume as original signal. (If 5 is
equal, and 10 is louder than the original, then you will need much less on
the mix dial.)

Third, short slap echo (small room) can take nearly the same level echo as
the original (85-90%). Longer delays (big room / hall) are usually much less
in volume (30-40%). This is the compromise: you have one mix for both delay
times.

Echo level is dependent on the total acoustic situation. The echo mix you
set at home will likely not be enough on stage. It will get buried and you
will think it's not enough.

TAP TEMPO
Please save your money for a delay with tap tempo. Instead of choosing
between 2 preset echo times, you will have a custom delay for each tune.
Just Tap when the drummer clicks off the song. Once you've played live with
tap tempo, you'll never go back. To get started, search Google - digital
delay "tap tempo"

Additional tip
Reverb units with "small room" and Gated selections can deliver much the
same effect as a slap echo. Choose the smallest room the unit has, and set
reverb level to about 90%. Adjust to taste.

"Works and plays well with others"
Generally, set your effect (of any kind) right where you love it, then
reduce it some. Nothing will make you less welcome at a jam, than too much
effect.

Enjoy!
