[Harp-L] Beginner Manual in French
Hello Glenn
I am afraid that sending harmonica through mail to Senegal is not so sure... Lots of boxes are opened before to reach the destination...
Hopefully I did help Jean Dagba and is Harmonica school located in Dakar. The first 100% african school ;). I made in sort to bring him about 150 harmonicas but most of them where not fully operational (Its why I wanted as well to show him how to make harmonicas from other harmonicas and some tuning on them)
I went myself to visit Jean and his school for one week in Dakar in June last year (Damien Masterson that I never met myself before me).
I think the best book I know for the moment is the famous one from Winslow ;) (translated by Jean Jacques Milteau in French)...But really for a chilfren 9 years old I am sending your question to Jean Jacques Milteau for you...
I guess the main language of the children is the Wolof, but he may speak french as well. Otherwise in case he can have some money to buy a harmonica in Sénégal he could find some (Chinese ones) in some Library (yes :) !...where you usually buy books) and Jean knows about some. The problem of these harmonicas is that if they are not expensive they are full of leak of air...not very good to start harmonica playing...
Jean is teaching Harmonica (Diatonic).
Please find the article I wrote after my visit to Jean Dagba here (Sorry for the bad english...my mother language is French) :

And the mail of Jean Dagba who could teach or help this Children perhaps ? In case he would be living in Dakar ?

> Good Morning Glenn, Thru ChildFund International I sponser a 9 yr. old boy in Senegal, Africa. I bought him an inexpensive harmonica, which is being mailed to him. I need to ask you if you are aware of an instruction book for children on how to play this instrument. It needs to be in the French language, as this is his native language. Please advise if you know a company that sells a French language book on lessons for him. Thank you so much. Have a great day! Charlotte Fairley nychar@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
