Different delay devices sound different, whether they be digital or analogue
(I'm not aware of anyone making a digital version of an analogue pedal). I would
focus on recommendations for specific pedals/devices rather than worry too much
about digital or analogue.
Boss DD2/3, DM2, Lone Wolf delays are popular & all have a good following.

Is there a big difference, in sound , between analog delay and digital delay? Is
it just preferance?
