These things usually come in cycles. I think we're on a down swing. It'll never die. I predict a resurgence in about ten years. It my not be called "blues," but it will be there.
As for now, I'm in a bluegrass band that I've talked into doing "Hot Tamales," "Got My Mojo Workin',"Â and 2 more original blues tunes.

1.2 million people in the Richmond, VA metro area. Zero blues clubs. There are two or three venues that I would describe as "supportive" of the blues, but there are no strictly blues clubs. For that matter, there are very few strictly blues bands. I can think of maybe half a dozen. Sad...
