Mike, sounds like the solo thing went well. Please make and post some recordings for us to hear.
I'm hoping to be gigging my own solo act with 3 RPs and a stereo looper soon. I'm finding some similar issues to yours, in particular that the physical setup on the floor matters a lot in terms of ease of use and precision.
