Words cannot express my sadness at the news that Michael Polesky has passed
away. I knew Michael from harp-l originally, and back in about 1997 when I
visited the Los Angeles area on a business trip, Michael was kind enough to
drive down to Long Beach and pick me up to take me to one of his jazz jams. It
was thrilling hearing those guys play, and I also had the privilege of meeting
David Fairweather. I only saw Michael a couple more times at SPAH conventions
over the years, but he always treated me like a life-long friend. He was a true
gentleman and a talented played, and the world is better off for having had him
in it, worse off now for his loss.
