Re: [Harp-L] Bending Stress in reeds (was Manji Reed Quality)

I have many, many brands and models of harmonicas and appreciate their individual characteristics.  Of course some overblow and overdraw better than others.  Some scream in agony when I attack them.  Others easily submit to my coaxing.   I highly recommend using a Marine Band 364 12 hole and 365 14 hole for bending and overblowing because for me they are among the best.

I tried what you recommended.  During a half hour of earnest effort, I was unable to get a peep from an opening reed.  All that this proves is that I haven't paid the price in practice to be able to bend and overblow on the diatonic.  As a consequence, I don't have anything to contribute to this thread.
