There is a YT video out there somewhere that shows you how to practice listening for theÂtone change using a straw to blow bend? over blow?
I tried it and it helped me hear what its supposed to sound like, but I still canât come close to holding it without the straw.
Maybe in my next life. lol

Try this to see if it works.
Pretend the tip of your tongue is super glued to the area where your bottom teeth and gums meet.
Extend tongue forward, which will push it up at the front of the mouth in a hump, similar to when you were little and pushed mashed potatos through your upper teeth.
As you breath out while doing this, get a sensation of making an "sssssssssssss" sound near the roof of your mouth.
Try doing this in hole 9.
The idea is to redirect the outflow of air and concentrate it up over this hump in the tongue as it exits your mouth and enters the harmonica.
Eventually you will find that you don't have to use a lot of force, but you may have to start finding the technique by pushing the air a bit at first.
