[Harp-L] How to Be A Great Harp Player

May 30, 2011

Lets show some real blues power...

In the next 4 days our music world can help win a grant for $25,000 for
Sister Anne Brooks at the Tutwiler Medical Clinic of Tutwiler, Mississippi.

Remember, Tutwiler is the tiny town where Sonny Boy Williamson is buried.
They need help, and here's our chance.

The grant will be awarded to the "most deserving mission" -- according to
which of the nominees gets the most votes.

Sr. Brooks has been nominated for the Catholic Extension's Lumen Christi
Award along with 13 other exceptional individuals who exemplify the true
missionary spirit. The winner of this award will receive a $25,000 grant .
Voting ends Friday June 3rd at 5:00 PM

Sister Anne Brooks of Tutwiler. It takes two clicks,

one minute, tops.

Here is a close to the bone story about Sister Anne and Jam Camp.

As you may know, we just finished a Six Day Jam Camp in Clarksdale,
Mississippi.

On Day 1, coach Cheryl Arena stumbled and fell...and was having trouble
breathing.

Cheryl had no money for the Clarksdale Hospital so she was driven to the
tiny clinic 10 miles away in Tutwiler.

Cheryl was treated personally by Sister Anne Brooks, the orthopedic surgeon
and Sister who founded the Clinic.

Cheryl didn't know who she was, but the next day she said "she had been
treated by an angel."

And yes Sister Ann is an angel.

Just looking at her picture at

feel better.

There will be no bill from Tutwiler. They knew from the front Cheryl is a
blues musician with no doctor type cash, and they saw her anyway.

Cheryl is fine, by the way. She is still sore and playing harp at 80%
capacity (which is still 120% of most people). She said Sister Brooks held
her and massaged her to calm her down.

Keep getting better, Cheryl. And thank you, Sister Ann!

And pass this letter on!
