Regarding the Manji, another post wrote "It's not bad, but certainly
no better than stock LO's,MB's, or GM's. It's just a matter of taste."
Indeed. I was at the Asia Pacific Harmonica Festival last year, and went
to a late night blues jam. I was on stage with Brendan Power and the
mighty Singapore based Kelvin "Smokey" Ng. More specifically, Brendan
stepped down and I took his place.
Not a time to have a second rate instrument. I think I was on 3rd
position with an F Manji. It just breathes.
I've been on about the Manji and the Crossover, with good cause. Get
yourself into a tight situation, on a loud stage or a tough acoustic
session. Try the Manji. Or the Crossover. Then switch back to the
Special 20 or Lee Oskar.
If, after that, you choose to stay with the cheaper instruments then you
have made an informed choice. It is a matter of taste.
