Hi all,
I've done some work recently on a new amped blues patch for the Digitech RP that takes a somewhat different approach to the sound design: a champ amp model with less gain up front, more amp level on the back end of the patch. I used a bassman 4x10 cab model and a slapback delay too, which is pretty much de rigeur for amped blues. The result is a dark, powerful tone with a surprising amount of punch, and it's very loud before feedback.
This patch will be distributed without charge to current Huntersounds patch set licensees. Stay tuned for a clip or two on my website at hunterharp.com.
This patch is in addition to the planned update scheduled for June 2011, which will include a collection of patches designed for acoustic work, all featuring a range of nicely delayed and reverbed "acoustic" spaces. Not for nothing do they put Lexicon reverbs in those RPs. You can hear one of the patches scheduled for that release--a big reverb plus delay designed to evoke a cathedral--in my performance of "Widow's Walk" from the VA harmonicafest in March of this year:
