Re: [Harp-L] Jason Ricci's health & Youtube etiquette

"Is it in bad taste to tag other harmonica player's names in your own YouTube videos? "

Yes, I think it's in bad taste, and probably a misuse of the feature, as I believe the tagging feature is to identify who is shown in the video. So if someone is looking for this great harp player named Jason Ricci to see what the fuss is all about, and happens across *my* video because I tagged him due to it being one of his songs or some other reason (I still don't know why people do this...), she/he might say "Wow, this Jason Ricci guy isn't all that good at all!". Some folks don't take the time to read all of the surrounding text, etc that might make it clear that it's not really Jason in the video. Same problem with people that tag others in facebook pictures that they don't appear in, just to get their attention. It's annoying.

Your post could have just shown up now if it was held by the administrator of the list, due to past problems with things you posted, or it was too long (i.e. you replied to the digest and the whole thing was included and was a size violation), or some other problem with the way you posted it.

I don't think it's in good taste either to discuss someone's personal health on public forums really, but I know it happens to the very famous all the time but that's the price of fame. Jason's a friend of a lot of us, and might not like it either, no matter what the current state of his health is.
