my recollection is that the research that was used to justify
banning talking on cell phones while driving found that hands
free was just as bad.  if true, i expect that'd hold for harp as
well.  it's not the act of holding it, but the shift in your attention
that creates the danger.

in a previous thread on this perennial topic, it was pointed out
that if you do have an accident, having a rack holding a harp
in front of your face would be a really bad idea.
