Bob makes an excellent point.  For those of you who are thinking "someday
soon I will go to a SPAH convention", the best way to insure that there will
be a SPAH convention to go to when the time comes is to become a SPAH member
now.  Plus you get an excellent newsletter and warm fuzzies for preserving
and advancing your instrument of choice.

I, alas, will not be at SPAH this year. I am taking my semi-decade, one-year
sabbatical from the festivities. I know I will be missing a ton of fun, some
poignant moments, and a lot great learning opportunities.  Y'all who are
going - lap it up, baby.  Nothing like it, and it only comes around once a
year.  I hope in the 0 to 40 years I have left that I can make it to many
more.

Hope to see everyone, including all the newbies, next year.
