To all readers of this list who want to purchase something from a vendor in another country -

We love your business - our livelihoods depend on it. We do understand you have duties to pay. We know those duties can be quite high in some countries. We are sorry about that.

But please do not ask us to falsify federal documents on your behalf. DO NOT ask us if we can "mark it as a gift" or "for repair/return" or to state an artificially low value on the customs form. You're not only asking us to commit a felony, you're asking us to admit to it in public forums, or over email, leaving an audit trail that would ensure an easy conviction! If you want us around to serve you in the future, please recognize that this is a type of request we simply cannot comply with.

Thanks for understanding. I post this today only because it just happened to me - it happens all the time. I know it just didn't occur to you or you wouldn't have asked in the first place - but I thought I'd say something while it is fresh in my mind.

Thanks for understanding.

/Greg
