Ron's question sounds like tuning a piano with a "stretch" to compensate for
the perceived flatness from higher octaves. (raise the pitch reference
slightly for each higher octave.)

I tried this, but found it ineffective over a 3 octave range of the
diatonic. Pianos deal with 7-8 octaves and I use stretch tuning effectively
there.

Sweet, smooth chords achieved with JI Just Intonation addresses a different
challenge.
