Re: [Harp-L] Harmonicas and Air Travel

Yes I like trains too...

But they are not an option here in the Philippines. This is a nation of
thousands of islands. I wish I had a Cesna, or a helicopter!

If I need to travel to America or to Europe to play my harmonica at a music
festival... Or to get to any gig..... I have to travel "Cattle Class" on a
 commercial airliner.

My harp kit weighs in at 26 pounds. Simply check your hand luggage isn't
heavier, or larger than the allowance..

And PLEASE pack any files, probes screw drivers, knives or such.. IN THE
HOLD!

I like trains, and I use them when I can. In 1998, Northwest airlines
went on strike while I was at SPAH in Detroit, and I returned home on Amtrak.

But in the USA, trains in many parts of the country are few and far
between. It's also true that many destinations in the USA are far enough apart to
make travel by train a matter of days rather than hours, which can be very
inconvenient.
