Charlie McCoy also shows up on some Flatt & Scruggs albums recorded in the
1960s. Can't get much more bluegrass than that.

I loved Kentucky Waltz... that is the style of harp I have been trying
to do. Note I said "Trying". I want to take a little blues, a little
Charlie McCoy and mix in a little of me and use it for country/bluegrass
music. Sometimes it works better than others. Right now I'm
experimenting with country tuning and with Brendan's Powerbender.
Last Sunday I was at a little musical gathering with a jam circle and
the singer/guitarist nodded at me and said "help me out" and took off
with Milk Cow Blues.... I had tried to learn that a few years ago off a
Mike Caldwell tape.. darned if that didn't pop out of me and it turned
out pretty well. I guess you never know what might happen if you just
keep playing.
Steve Webb in Minn... where the temp is headed into the minus 20s in
the next 24-48 hours.
