[Harp-L] Re: What mic to get
Jessie / All
Thanks for the HUGE and positive response over the past 2 days in regard
to the latest revision of my free Harp Mic Buyers Guide. It can be
requested at harmonicaplanet.com Just mouse over the Harp Mic's tab.
In no way did I wish to convey in my last post that I think ALL the eBay
mic sellers are crooked and/or inept, but it is certainly true that many of
them are... even some of the high profile/high volume ones. I wouldn't say
so if I didn't have the ability to back the assertion with a big batch of
well documented fact which reaches back for several years. I hate seeing
these people preying on inexperienced buyers from the our community... so am
willing to fight the good fight.
Doesn't mean I don't hold some of my competitors in high esteem. Guys
like Greg Heumann, Dennis Oilleg, Fritz & a half dozen others provide honest
accurate descriptions and build some very nice products. I give them their
due, even refer prospective clients to them from time to time.
Get the guide, do your homework, ask some informed questions... your
chances of getting something good in exchange for your hard earned cash will
triple.

nice to have a good resource on mics -
just to be clear, there are some good mic sellers on eBay too - a couple of
guys I have bought from there are first rate sellers, and their mics are
primo - exactly as presented and worth the bucks. and yes, you do have to
watch out for hucksters there and elsewhere....
