Re: [Harp-L] sonny boy williamson I

Hi, that would be Sonny Boy 1 with Good Morning Little School Girl.

John Lee Williamson, aka Sonny Boy 1, the original Sonny Boy, can give a
lifetime of lessons on his CDs. His rhythm patterns and turnarounds are a
wealth of musical ideas. The Grand Pappy of modern harmonica, IMHO.
His Document, and I think Bluebird recordings are your best bet. Some of
his stuff out there is of very poor recording quality, so you have to be a
little careful with what you buy. The first time I heard him on the radio, I
was floored with his rich warm voice and harmonica accompaniment. I can
remember the impression he made on me like it was just yesterday.

Hope this helps,

Chris Mastakas,
