Hmm!
A 1/4"x 12x12" ply mountet on a similar sized 1/2" 12x12. And with a hard
rubber spacer at a hinge point, 1/4 inch space would do the same thing!
Again....I want to busk......stomp......and make noise!

remember being taught that in the old "Punch and Judy" puppet shows they
wanted the stick the puppets hit each other with to produce a loud noise,
without actually hitting the puppets hard and risking damage to them. They
discovered that if they took two thin slats, with a portion of one as a
spacer at the bottom of the stick, it looked like a solid stick, but when
they hit the puppet with it, the two sticks slapped together and produced a
louder noise than a solid stick, hence the name "slapstick" comedy. I
wonder if you could make something like that work as a foot actuated
percussion divice, without an amplifier, which I believe was your goal?
