Yeah, we Tulsans are particularly proud of Mr. Cale and his sometimes
sidekick Rocky Frisco. We are proud of our "Tulsa Sound" which is a fusion
of country, western swing, jazz and pop. You have to hear it to understand
it but Cale is a prime example. A lot of musical influences and high
quality musicians come through the crossroads here. Leon Russell used to
drive around town in a white Rolls. There is a local legend that Russell
and Eric Clapton (who was supposedly in town visiting him) popped into a
kind of dubious local place one night and conducted the dream jam session of
a generation.
