The RP70 has an input for an optional expression pedal (any passive volume pedal can be used). Expression assignments are similar to the pricier RPs - and if the pedal dies it's easily replaced.
I got the RP70 primarily as a substitute for a harp amp(s) and only need a limited number of dirty/clean amp tones ('57 Fender Tweed Deluxe/Digitech Clean Tube amp) all of which sound great and pack into a small pedalboard bag (w/ mic, cables, power strip and footpedal graphic EQ).
The only possible downside to owning an RP is that I usually volunteer to haul PA gear since I have so little else to carry
