"What is SPAH? The people that have actually been members and experienced
SPAH membership please share what it is to you."
As a member, to me, it is a very diverse group dedicated to all things
harmonica. It's everyone from folks interested in sitting on their back
porch making music with friends to touring pros staying connected with the
latest and greatest developments. It's a way of honoring and learning about
the past, and collectively driving toward and learning about the future.
It's an organization that puts on the most fantastic convention every year,
where you can play, buy, learn, listen, demonstrate, teach, absorb, commune,
eat, drink, and drink in everything about the harmonica - all types of
harmonicas, and all the types of music they make. And the associated stuff
that goes with them. It's a grass roots organization committed to
increasing communication about the harmonica and building an international
harmonica community, not the least of which has been its support (at times
financial, but always spiritual) of harp-L.
