Re: [Harp-L] foot operated bass - PorchBoard
A gadget that has been around since 1994 called the PorchBoard plugs
into an amp and provides a monotone bass sound. It lists at $300
(Elderly has it for less) and the current model looks slightly
different from the original model, adding an outrigger footrest. My
2004 model is not shown on PorchBoard site but it appears in some of
the YouTubes. The PorchBoard does not require any tricky footwork; all
you have to do is tap your foot.

The new model accepts XLR and quarter inch plugs and has a three-way
frequency response switch.
If you are handy with tools and have a lot of free time, there are some
Youtube videos that demonstrate how to build your own. Or you can just
put a 3/4 plywood board down and mic it.
Hope this helps.

That's funny--I am about to drag some Roland PK-5 bass pedals down to
my gig to use along with guitar and harp (and vocals)--see if they give
me more money 8)G
