RE: [Harp-L] Off the Wall

Ryan -
Thanks for the clarification. Based upon the short clip, it's difficult for me to opine as to exactly who the player might be -- but it doesn't sound like Horton.

Let me put my harmonica historian nerd hat for a second:
Various Sun compilations have listed the tune (Talkin) Off The Wall as Big Walter, but most inforned discographers believe it is either Sammy Lewis or Joe Hill Louis (my choice).
The head is definitely Little Walter's Off The Wall but not much after that.
You can hear a clip here:

but I can't find a date for the session or release

It's worth noting that Walter Horton also recorded "Off the Wall" in
the early 1950s. Now what we need to figure out is this: who was
imitating who? Tom Ball, come in, please.

 Hi Glenn,
I'm not aware of any Horton recording of "Off The Wall," but would
certainly be interested in hearing it if it exists. Might you be
mixing it up with another instrumental? Below see a link to Walter
Horton's complete discography, with no "Off The Wall" in sight...
