As a Seydel endorser I have been playing the 1847 model exclusively now for
about 3 years. However, I have found myself using the new Session Steel
more and more. It combines the feel of a Golden Melody, the ease of play of
a Lee Oskar with the great tone of the 1847. The shape of the Session
makes it very lip friendly and easy to hold. The stainless steel reeds give
it a fuller stronger tone than the original Session but remain extremely
responsive. I was able to easily overblow holes 4 and 5 out of the box. I
can't comment yet on the longevity of the stainless steel reeds on the
Session Steel but it took me over 3 years to blow one out on the 1847 model.
As with all Seydel models the craftsmanship and quality of this harp is
excellent. The Session Steel currently retails for $59.95. If you have
never tried Seydel this would be a great model to start with. This harp has
it all. Chris Nacy http://www.izzyandchris.com/
