[Harp-L] Harp L comment - Roger Boyce

@Larry Bloomfield re. Seydel stainless steel reeds

Been playing Seydel 1847s for some time now and yes, unequivocally, they do
last and last. As to their tone - I find them louder and brighter than most
makes....a couple of steps up in brightness and volume from the Bushman
Delta Frost with its phosphor bronze reeds. I happen to like the extra
volume and cut I get from the 1847.Others may or may not. As I've said
before (strictly for context of remark) I've been playing amplified harp for
nigh unto 45 years.

In that time I've owned Hohner Marine Bands, Big Rivers (favorite of Paul
deLay), Special 20's, and Cross Harps. Bushmans, Suzuki Promasters, and Lee
Oskars.

The various brands have their range of strengths and shortcomings, sound
flavors, wind dynamic, ergonomic feel, aesthetic looks, etc.

Having said that I have to admit that - short of the introduction of a new
brand diatonic that exceeds the 1847 in robustness, tone, feel, and volume
- I'm happily married for life to the Seydel 1847.

Just for the record -I've no business, professional, blood-relation,
friendship connection to Seydel.

For what it's worth
