Depends on how you play your octaves :)
I tongue block most things with the tongue aimed forward (NOT off to the side) and tucked UNDER the harmonica, resting on the tips of the lower teeth, and/or the inside of the lower lip, and bulge the tongue forward so that the broad, moist surface of the tongue blocks the holes. This works for octaves as well as single-note blocking.
The only time I do anything different is when I need to block out just one hole in the middle and play the holes on either side. The i use the underside of my tongue to block that one hole.
