RE: [Harp-L] Alan Wilson Did not play Harp on On The Road Again?
The clip is from the German Beat-Club
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beat-Club, a TV Show running every Saturday
from 1965-1972. This particular clip might very well be a previously
recorded film, because they couldn't afford to get all the bands to play
live in studio (and a.f.a.I.k. German TV studios always liked playback for
budgetary reasons).
I remember having endless discussions with my parents who didn't want to
listen to that "noise". Blessed the folks who grew up in Britain or in the
US where rock and pop music were more widely accepted ;-).
Harp content: I have to talk to Michael Timler, to get me an A- harp with a
retuned 6 draw http://www.patmissin.com/ffaq/q19.html or try doing it myself
with an old harmonica...
Cheers
Tom

I wonder if this is just an early version of a promo film clip. they aren't
actually playing, it sounds like the cut from the album Someone decided Bob
Hite
looked cooler blowing harp

There is a recent You Tube video of Canned Heat playing On The Road Again.
Unless it is a overdub, it is Bob Hite, not Alan who is playing harp. Alan
is
on guitar. I was always sure that Alan was playing as the phrasing is very
much
Alan Wilson. Check it out: (though you might have to ensure a bullshit
republican political ad at the outset).
