Tex is a real nice guy, a great player, and a generous jammer!
Anyway, Tex did not replace Lee Oskar in any band. Lee Oskar is still with the guys in the band he helped start: Howard Scott, Harold Brown, & BB DIckerson, and now also Lance Ellis, Telvis Ward & Chuck Barber.
They're now called The Lowrider Band, having lost (please don't ask how) the legal right to the three-lettered name. I take nothin away from Tex, Mitch K and others who've played with that other band, but the Lowriders are the real thing, when it comes to the band that made L.A. Funk famous!

Here
is Tex Nakamura playing the Magic Dick tune in Japan! Tex is the harp
player from The 44's an Orange County based band, he also replaced Lee
Oscar in War.
