All twelve, I always have all twelve major keys in the case. The guitars tune down half a step, or someone puts on a capo and you'll be sorry you don't have an Ab or Db (or maybe you wanna play in E straight.......). But if I had to limit it, for me there would be an essential seven (in the order they get played the most, generally/sort of):
A, C, G, D, F, Eb, Bb.
If you wanna play harmonica, you're gonna have to spend some $, No way around it.

How many harps do you guys bring to one show that you actually will use during the gig? I am currently gigging with only 5 right now, but I am doing mostly blues/country/irish gigs. I am trying to save up some $ to upgrade my amp setup..
