Re: [Harp-L] Alan Wilson's microphone
I have the Woodstock deluxe edition dvd that this is from and have looked at
it closely and am pretty sure that it is a Shure 545 with a custom volume
control. In Fito's book, "Living the Blues", there are a couple of pictures
of Alan in the studio using what looks like a 545 pistol grip.

Without seeing the head of the mic it's pretty hard to say for sure, but
could be a Shure 545, popular istrument and vocal mic of the day. The
black tape and volume control are definately custom. Greg Heuman could fix
yopu up with one of his 545 ultimates or an sm57 ultimate, they would have
the volume control built in, be less cumbersome and more attractive.

Greg's work is the absolutew best, and he's a great guy to boot. BL
