Funny, but metronomes seem to have a similar circuit, even the wind-up analog ones. They keep screwing up the time, counting uneven beats or speeding up and slowing down, and just generally ruining the perfect intuitive rhythm of all the music I play, both alone and in group situations. Turn of the metronome and the problem seems to go away.
