You might have a voltage issue (too high) and a 6V6 is basically half of a
6L6 (in almost all of the specs)
so a re bias is essential. I would reccomend trying 12AY7's across the board
(all 3) and see if that helps.
It's a quick easy fix.

my buddy plays lead guitar thru a 59 bassman ri, and was wondering about
swapping the two 6L6's for 6V6's to get more crunch. Is this
feasible--does it require rebiasing or is there another route he should
explore? Harp content: I've been trying to play harp for over forty years
now--very sad. Thanks in advance!!
