For any who haven't come across this recent (and perhaps temporarily posted
so look soon!) instructional video on playing in 12th position for  tunes
that feature major 7th chords, take a look:

means look into Howard's instruction series online for which this is a
demonstration.  (2 months of unlimited online interactive video group and
individual work for $60!)  This position takes some getting used to, (with
root note as the 5 draw) but guys like Howard, as well as Jason Ricci and
the usual lineup of gurus do an incredible job with it.  Thanks Howard!
