Soak your synthetic combs (plastic, metal, glass, porcelain, acrylic) for a 
 half hour in pure lemon juice, then rinse completely. Do the same on the 
reed  plates and covers.
 
Lemon juice won't harm you or the harmonica, and will clean and renew the  
look of the harmonica parts.
 
For wood combs, use a dry toothbrush for easy cleaning; a damp toothbrush  
for mid-range cleaning; a metal brush for extreme cleaning. Never soak a 
wood  comb in any liquid. Use the brush gently.
