Re: [Harp-L] Re: Why Charlie's Cruncher was backwards, and other stuff

I have a good friend in Larry David -he played harp on HeeHaw for the length of the series.

Larry said he never had much control over amp or mic placement-that was the job of the sound crew. They decided the ultimate outcome of the sound-live tv back in the day,and even now is very high pressure, with little room fussy musicians.

I have had the pleasure of meeting Charlie many times over the 20 years I have been going to see him perform-I thought he did a great job on GMA-the amp was facing backwards as to not "bleed" in with the other high powered amps. The bass and keys were loud-they always are on live tv.

Cyndi is a stellar musician-see plays many instruments, and her voice is superb. She has a great vibrato.

I did not notice any "sharp" of "flat" notes by Charlie-he plays a lot of third position, and I don't think he would give it up for the sake of live tv.
