How many have made plans to be in Bloomington, MN this August for the
convention? Now is a good time to start preparing! Last minute never works
out as well as planning ahead. Step one is to go to www.spah.org and get
registered. Then figure out how to get there! The website is set up to help
folks coordinate transportation and roomate situations.

Remember, last year many were slow to be preparred and hesitent on
committing early. When it was over we set attendance records! The Sacramento
convention was AWESOME! The "earlybirds" always get the best rooms, the best
rates for transportation AND have plenty of time to pack up all their harps!

Here's why you should go to spah. Not wishing to circumvent Warren's position here, but I have a few tidbits to consider.

1... If you are over 81, you should go becaaaause: You are already on borrowed time, probably have a;ready forgotten more about harmonica than most people know, and this is a chance to get together with YOUR kind, maybe play a little and might even be in a position to be able to afford it. Then, when your time comes, you can say "I did it MY way".

2... 64-81. you should go because: There will be people there that you have developed a friendship with over the many years, there will be tunes that you know, love, can play, and prefer. At this age, it's time for YOU. You already spent vacations with the family. This is your time.

3... 49-64. you should go because: You should have already established yourself at some job, should be able to get the time off, and should be at the peak of your earning power. What better way to spend 5 days then with your own kind of people.

4... 36-49. you should go because: You are still in a position to learn something, AND since you are in your prime (and have the energy), you may even be able to teach others what YOU have to offer.

5... 25-36. you should go because: We, of the old persuasion, WANT to pass the torch on to you. Come and take it. I realize this group might have some trouble with finances, but if you can do it, do it.

6... 16-25. you should go because: You are the NEW hope. I realize that this group may need some support. But if you can do it. do it.

7... 9-16. you should go because: You may be there with your family, some member(s) of which ALREADY play. Hey, like chicken soup...couldn't hurt. Nows the time to start playing.

8... Less than 9? Why not come along for the ride?

Coclusion? You should go. Quit sittin on the fence, sitting on the fence, you should have bought a ticket now. First you say you will, and then you won't. Then you say you do, but then you don't. You're undecided now, so what are you gonna do?
