Well, I was gigging in the 1960's across Europe with "The John Walden  
Workshop" & "John Walden's Blues Combine"
I did EVERYTHING IN MY POWER
to STOP the combs of my harps swelling!
God knows, putting them in fluid MADE THEM WORSE...
Perhaps I simply disliked having my lips ripped to shreds?
THANK GOODNESS for plastic and metal combs!
Diatonic harmonicas back in the 1960s were TERRIBLE... But they  were 
Hohner. Hohner still make the best harmonicas... IMHO...
