Re: [Harp-L] RE: Harp-L Digest, Vol 77, Issue 79-Re Hohner Pricing

Ron
I think you'll find that governments of almost all developed counties have
been printing money and borrowing heavily as a response to the recession,
there's a lot of discussion about the impact this may have on the world
economy in the longer term but that's another discussion. The Euro has been
strengthening against the dollar for most of the last ten years, which is
going to make European exports to the US more expensive. The pound's really
weak against the Euro too which can be frustrating for us.

Mind you, it may have been the relative strength of the dollar against the
Mark in the 20s & 30s and after WWII which would have the harmonica such a
financially accessible instrument for very poor people in the heyday of the
blues.

Could it be that our $ under the current administration's willingness to
keep printing money, is not worth what it was, and getting weaker by the
day? Every business has to make a reasonable profit, based on the value
of
return. Price increase in Europe as well?
